Grand Prismatic Spring: Yellowstone National Park
After we were done cruising around the Old Faithful Area, off we went to the Midway Geyser Basin Area. It was only a short 5-6 mile drive from Old Faithful toward Madison Campground. We parked at the Fairy Falls Trailhead and hiked 1 mile on a gravel road to a side spur trail that overlooked the Spring. This trail is not marked but very visible from the main trail. There are many pathways that lead atop the mountain, none of them are easy. After about a 300-400 foot climb we looked back and saw the amazing Grand Prismatic Spring. The vibrant colors this spring has is down right beautiful. Outside of the Teton Mountain Range, this was my favorite site to visit on the trip.
