BWO Sipper

Sipping a BWO
My dad and I headed down to the river in the afternoon yesterday after hearing good things from Matt earlier in the week. We both rigged up with nymphs and hit the water, but I quickly changed over to a dry fly because I saw some heads popping up. It was an overcast day with a little rain mixed in which means perfect weather for the BWO. The risers were hit or miss but we both managed to land 2-3 fish each and missed a few more. Making the trip was well worth it, not only for the action on top but because we had the stream to ourselves. The BWO came off just about the entire time we were down there (3 p.m. to 9 p.m.) with a few Cahills mixed in. You can't ask for much more when it comes to late summer fishing, and this stream continues to provide me reasons for coming back.
