June 11th, 2009

The last day of the trip was rainy and cloudy. Perfect conditions for hatches. Morning was slow, caught all mine on a Slate Drake as did my brothers. Had few rises but the ones we saw we could catch. We had solid dry-fly action in the afternoon and evening. Picked up 20 fish between the 3 of us. Olive Hare's Ears starting working along with Slate Drakes and Blue Wing Olives. The spinner fall was ok caught some fish on a tan spinner. Overall the trip was a success. Water was good the whole trip which has been rare for us at Penn's. The bug activity was there, the fish just seemed off for some reason. Next time we plan our trip to Penn's I think we will go in May.
