Fishing Report 8-25-09

Water 856 cfs and 59.5 degrees. Took the water temp when I got in, it was 68 degrees. Didn't have a good feeling because of the water temp but stuck it out till dark. Not much happening for the first hour but once the sun went down things heated up. Lots of small green caddis and midges were hatching. A few splashy rises but nothing consistent. Right around 7:45-8:00 the best Rusty Spinner fall I have seen happened. Massive amounts of bugs, 10 or so fish rising sporadically, enough to put on a dry fly. I caught 2 and missed 2 on the Rusty Spinner. 15 min before dark an abundant number of yellow sallies were hatching. I think if the weather stays cool and the stream temp falls a few degrees you could get into decent fishing with the Rusty Spinner.......
